Community Rules: Ensuring a Positive Experience for Everyone
At Buenro, we believe in fostering a community of respect and trust between hosts and guests. These Community Rules serve as a foundation for positive interactions and help ensure everyone enjoys their stay. By booking through Buenro, you agree to abide by these rules.
Respecting the Space
Think of your host's home as your own – treat it with care and consideration. This includes:
Shared Living Space Cleanliness
Maintaining a clean and comfortable shared living environment is a collective responsibility. All residents are expected to practice "clean as you go," ensuring the space remains tidy throughout their stay. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Immediately cleaning dishes and kitchenware after use
- Wiping down surfaces after cooking or food preparation
- Cleaning up spills promptly
- Keeping personal belongings tidy and stored appropriately
- Removing personal items from common areas after use
- Maintaining the cleanliness of shared bathrooms, including wiping down sinks and showers after use
- Disposing of your trash in designated receptacles. Avoid leaving excessive amounts of trash that exceed the normal capacity of the provided bins
Failure to uphold these cleanliness standards may result in a group discussion to address concerns and create a plan for improvement. Repeated or egregious violations may result in further action, as determined by the Curator, the Property Manager, and/or Buenro Support.
Damage
Accidents happen. If you cause damage beyond normal wear and tear, inform your Curator as soon as possible. Work with them and the host to find a reasonable solution for repair or replacement. Guests are responsible for paying reasonable reimbursement requests for damage, missing items, or unexpected cleaning costs they cause. In the case that nobody takes responsibility for an incident, all guests will bear the cost equally.
Following House Rules
Each host may have specific house rules, but these general guidelines always apply:
Approved Guests
Respect the maximum number of guests allowed per individual booking, which is no more than 2 people per room. Both guests occupying the room should be registered in Buenro via the House Dashboard. Unregistered guests will be asked to leave the property by the Curator. If you have any questions about having visitors, communicate with your Curator. Gatherings or parties are prohibited unless the host grants specific permission.
Check-in and Check-out
Adhere to the host's designated check-in and check-out times. Contact your Curator to request approval for early arrivals or late departures.
Smoking
Respect the property's smoking policy and the preferences of other Guests. If it's unclear, ask for clarification. This includes all forms of smoking, including tobacco, cannabis, e-cigarettes, and vaping. You are also responsible for complying with all applicable local laws regarding smoking.
Pets
Pets are not allowed. Service animals are not considered pets and are always allowed.
Noise
Be mindful of noise levels, especially during designated quiet hours. Avoid disturbing other guests or neighbours with loud music, shouting, slamming doors, or other excessive noise.
Commercial Photography and Filming
Do not engage in any photography or filming intended for commercial use or profit without obtaining explicit written permission from your host.
Privacy
Buenro values the privacy of all users. To help create a comfortable and respectful environment, we have established the following rules:
Respect for Private Spaces
Guests must not access or attempt to access private spaces without permission: This applies to any other bedrooms and private bathrooms except the ones assigned to you by the curator. Additionally, guests must not access shared bathrooms when another person is inside.
Personal Property
Do not use or move another person's personal property without their explicit permission.
Avoid Privacy-Infringing Activities
Do not engage in any behavior that infringes on another person's privacy, such as spying or eavesdropping.
No Unauthorized Content Sharing
Do not publicly share private information, photos, or videos of other guests without their consent.
Sharing with Others
Buenro offers a unique shared living experience. Here's how it works:
Curators
The person who initiates the booking is considered the "Curator." They have additional responsibilities, including:
- Leading the group and coordinating with other "Guests"
- Managing arrival and departure times for everyone in the group
- Managing the bedroom allocation on a first-come first-serve basis
- Ensuring all confirmed Guests have access to the property at all times
- Curators cannot unilaterally kick out other Guests
- Curators can request Buenro support to cancel a Guest's booking after it has been confirmed. Buenro will evaluate the request and reserves the right of refusal
Guests
Everyone who books a shared stay is considered a "Guest." Guests have the following rights:
- Equal access to the property and its amenities
- Protection from being unfairly kicked out by the Curator or other Guests
- Shared responsibility for the condition of the property and adherence to the Property Manager's Terms of Service, and to these Community Rules
Cancellations
- Curators can request to cancel a Joiner's booking, but the final decision rests with Buenro support
- The homeowner retains the right to cancel the entire reservation. If a Curator wants to cancel the reservation for everyone, they must request this through the homeowner and the homeowner's or Property Manager's Terms of Service Cancellation Policies will apply to all guests
Safety and Support
If any Joiner experiences a safety issue, feels uncomfortable, or witnesses dangerous or inappropriate behavior, they can contact Buenro support for assistance.
Communication is Crucial
Open and honest communication between hosts and guests is essential for a successful stay.
Prompt Communication
If any issues arise during your stay, communicate with your Curator promptly. They will communicate with the Property Manager on your behalf.
Report Violations
Guests should report any violations of these rules to Buenro. We encourage documentation of the issue through the Support message thread, emails, photos, or other evidence.
Accountability and Appeals
Buenro is committed to enforcing these Community Rules to maintain a positive community.
Consequences of Violations
Actions taken against guests who violate these rules may include warnings, suspension, eviction from the property, or removal from the platform.
Appealing Decisions
Guests can appeal decisions made under this policy by contacting Buenro customer support.
Host-Specific Rules
In addition to these general Community Rules, hosts may add their own specific rules to their listing page. Guests are expected to review and abide by these additional rules.
By following these Community Rules and maintaining open communication, we can create a welcoming and respectful environment for everyone in the Buenro community.
