This Privacy Policy describes how Buenro OÜ and its affiliates ("the Company", "we", "us", or "Buenro") process personal information in regards to your use of the Buenro Platform.
For purposes of General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), the Company is the "Data Controller" determining the purpose and processing of your information.

1. What Information Does Buenro Collect and How Do We Collect It?
When Users access the Buenro Platform and create an account, Buenro collects information to facilitate the provision of services. This information may include, but is not limited to:
Required Information to Create Buenro Account
- Contact and account set-up information such as first name, last name, phone number, country of residence, email address, gender, date of birth, and profile photo(s).
- For certain features, we may need to verify your identity and thus request you provide documentation, such as an image of your government-issued ID (according to applicable laws) and/or a selfie. If the verification is conducted by us and/or through a 3rd party service, we will obtain your information as listed on the ID.
Additional Information You Choose to Provide
You may also choose to provide us with additional information to access features of the Buenro Platform. These include, but are not limited to, additional profile information such as future social and travel plans; biometric information such as data from identification documents you submit for ID verification; or other optional information you elect to provide such as when completing forms or surveys, participating in Buenro services and promotions including, but not limited to, the "Buenro Referral Program" or "+1 Guests" feature, or submitting Customer Support requests. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the proper authorization to provide the personal information of other individuals when participating in Buenro's services and promotions.
Payment Information
Payment Information used to complete transactions for Bookings. The data collected may include payment instrument used, date and time, payment amount, payment instrument expiration date and billing postcode, email addresses, IBAN information, your address, your tax residence, and other related transaction details.
Automatically Collected Information
When you use the Buenro Platform and Payment Services, we automatically collect certain information to enhance your experience and ensure functionality. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Usage data based on user activity on Buenro Platform. This could include, but is not limited to, Listings searches, Bookings, user-generated communications on the platform, access times, clicking on links to third-party applications, and engagement with content.
- Device information to continuously monitor and improve the functionality of the Buenro Platform, such as IP address, hardware and software information, unique identifiers, crash data, and read receipts are collected. This information may be collected even if you haven't created a Buenro Account or logged in.
- Geological information as permitted through your device settings. This information is used to determine your physical location, precise or approximate, based on your IP address, device's GPS or other information shared by you. Buenro may also collect this information when you’re not using the app if enabled through your device settings.
- Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies, mobile identifiers, tracking URLs, log data, and similar technologies to support, secure, and enhance our platform and services. Refer below for the Cookies section of the Buenro Policy for how we utilize cookies and tracking technologies.
- Cookies or Browser Cookies: A cookie is a small file placed on your device. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, You may not be able to use some parts of our services.Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, our service may use cookies.
- Web Beacons: Certain sections of our services and our emails may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs) that permit the Company to count users who have visited pages or opened emails and for other related website statistics.(for example, recording the popularity of a certain section and verifying system and server integrity).
- Cookies can be "Persistent" or "Session" Cookies.Persistent Cookies remain on your computer or mobile device when you go offline, while Session Cookies are deleted as soon as you close your web browser. We use both Session and Persistent Cookies for the purposes set out below:

Information Collected from Third Parties

- If you are invited to the Buenro Platform, for example, as a co-traveler (also known as a "+1", "Plus One", or "Guest") or user referral on a trip, the person who invited you can submit personal information about you on your behalf.
- If a complaint is submitted about you, we may receive information from the submitter relating to the specific complaint. This information will be used to address the complaint if necessary.
- 3rd party payment processors may provide your financial information with us for the purpose of confirming the transaction.
- To the extent permitted by applicable law, we may receive additional information about you, such as references, demographic data, and information to help detect fraud and safety issues.
2. How Buenro Uses the Information Collected
We use your information to:
- Enable the use of our Platform features and Buenro Services including access, processing requests, and facilitating communication and payments.
- Conduct analytics, debug issues, improve our products and services, test new technologies or processes, and monitor the usage of our services
- Contact you by sending updates, notifications, and security alerts
- Provide customer support and training
- Personalize your experience based on your profile, preferences, and activity
- Adhere to Buenro Platform and Community security guidelines such as detecting fraud or security risks, conducting background checks, protecting legal rights, and complying with legal requirements
- Resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems and to enforce our Terms of Service and Terms of Use
- Enhance advertising and marketing activities such as sending personalized promotions and advertisements, administering referral programs, analyzing preferences for relevant marketing and event invitations.
- Render payment services, enforce payment terms and/or improve payment service offering
- Analyze and process communications to detect or prevent security risks or regulatory violations, debug and improve services, resolve fraud investigations or other customer support instances
- We do not use your messages for third-party marketing or sell communication analyses
3. Sharing and Disclosure of Your Information
Sharing With Your Consent or at Your Direction
We disclose your information when you explicitly direct or consent to it. This might occur when linking a third-party app, handling insurance claims, applying for financing options, or taking part in partner promotions. Your information may be shared to support bookings or interactions between Members, particularly in situations where Members or service providers are based in regions with varying data protection standards
- Provision of Services from Members' Service Providers
Hosts and Property Managers may share Guest details with external service providers, like cleaning or security services, through the platform's features. Other Members might use third-party tools to process your information, such as reservation or email management systems, which are beyond Buenro's control.
- Building Management Activities
We may share personal details with Property Managers, building owners, or associated agents (like property management companies) to assist with hosting, legal compliance, security, and other necessary services related to your booking.
- Rendering of Services by 3rd Party Service Providers
We may share your information with service providers for tasks such as:
- Verifying identity, conducting background checks, and ensuring fraud prevention.
- Supporting product development and troubleshooting.
- Facilitating services through third-party platforms.
- Managing customer support, payments, and insurance claims.
- These providers are obligated to safeguard your data and may disclose it when required by law.
Why We May Disclose Your Information
We may share your information in order to:
- Comply with Law Enforcement
Under certain circumstances, the Company may be required to disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g. a court or a government agency).

- Build Your Public Profile
Information shared publicly on the Buenro Platform may appear in search engine results. You have the option to control some of this visibility through your account settings. Public information may include your profile, reviews, ratings, listing details, community forum content, and any other information you choose to share publicly on third-party platforms.
4. Retention of Your Personal Information
Buenro will retain your personal data and usage data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your personal data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.
5. Transfer of Your Personal Information
Buenro provides a global service and also operates around the world. This means that your information may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your country.
Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer. The Company will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
6. Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data
We may process personal data under the following conditions:
- Consent: You have given Your consent for processing personal data for one or more specific purposes.
- Performance of a contract: Provision of personal data is necessary for the performance of an agreement with You and/or for any pre-contractual obligations thereof.

- Vital interests: Processing personal data is necessary in order to protect your vital interests or of another natural person.
- Public interests: Processing personal data is related to a task that is carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the Company.

In any case, the Company will gladly help to clarify the specific legal basis that applies to the processing, and in particular whether the provision of personal data is a statutory or contractual requirement, or a requirement necessary to enter into a contract.

Buenro respects the rights granted to users based on privacy laws applicable in your country.
- Right to Manage and/or Rectify Your Information: You have the ability to review and update certain personal details via your Account settings. It is your responsibility to maintain the accuracy and currency of your personal information.
- Right to Data Access and Portability: In some jurisdictions you may request certain copies of your personal information machine-readable format and/or request this information be sent to another service provider, where technically feasible.
- Right to Erasure: You can request that your personal information be deleted. If you wish to exercise this right, you may submit a request to us, and we will take reasonable steps to delete your personal data from our systems, provided that such data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or processed.
- Information you have shared with other users of the platform, such as posts, reviews, or other publicly visible content, may remain visible to those users even after your request for erasure and/or your Buenro Account is canceled.
- Please note that certain data may be retained if required by law or for legitimate business purposes, such as compliance with legal, tax, reporting obligations; resolution of disputes; or enforcement of agreements.
- Residual copies of your data may also remain in our backup systems or other archival storage for a limited period of time. These residual copies will be securely retained and erased in accordance with our data retention policies or applicable legal obligations.
- Right to Object or Withdraw Consent: You have the right to object to the processing of your data in cases where the legal basis for Buenro's processing of your personal information is legitimate business interest. You also have the right to withdraw your consent on using your personal data. If you withdraw your consent, Buenro may not be able to grant you access to the Buenro Platform or render other services.
If you choose to exercise any of the rights listed in this section, as consistent with applicable law, please contact us via email at legal@buen.ro to submit data subject rights requests. We may ask you to verify your identity and request before taking further action on your request. If we cannot authenticate your identity, if the request is unlawful or invalid, or if it could violate trade secrets, intellectual property, privacy, or the rights of others, we may choose to reject the requests.
You have the right to complain to a Data Protection Authority about our collection and use of your personal data. For more information, if you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), please contact your local data protection authority in the EEA.
8. Third-Party Partners and Integrations
The Buenro Platform may include links to third-party services. Buenro does not own or operate these third parties. If you click on a third party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites or services.
9. Policy Toward Age
Buenro does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from anyone under the age of 18 without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.
10. Security
Buenro values the security of your personal information. While no organization can guarantee perfect security, we are continuously implementing and updating reasonable security measures to help protect your information against unlawful or unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. As Buenro cannot make guarantees regarding the security of your personal data during transmission to our site, any such transmission is undertaken at your own risk.
11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
As Buenro continues to evolve, we may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version of the Privacy Policy will be available on the Buenro website with the "Last Updated" date at the top.
Upon the date the revised Policy becomes effective, your continued access or use of the Buenro platform will be governed by the revised Privacy Policy. In the case you disagree with the revisions to the Privacy Policy, Users may choose to cancel your Buenro Account.

Undefined terms in this Privacy Policy have the same definition as in our Terms of Use ("Terms").
